I have symptoms of Covid-19. What do I do?
In the last 14 days I have started to show at least one of the following symptoms, which I did not have before: cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever over 37.5ºC. The first step is always to go to quarantine.
- I have a SIP card*:Â
- Use the official mobile application of the Conselleria de Sanitat Universal i Salut Pública to request an appointment with your health centre if you have clinical symptoms compatible with COVID-19 infection. Through the APP you can also access extensive information on the infection caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus.
- Use the form to request an appointment with your health centre (if you have problems with English, right click and choose translate to the language of your choice).
- Call health centre of your population.
- I do not have a SIP card*:Â Â
- Use this form to request an appointment with your health centre (if you have problems with English, right click and choose translate into the language of your choice).
- Call health centre of your population.
The Valencia Regional Ministry of Health is responsible for diagnosing and monitoring cases of covid-19 and its contacts. Even if you do the test in a private centre, the health centre in your town will be informed and will do the follow-up. It is very important that this process is centralised and coordinated at a single point. We therefore recommend that you follow the steps mentioned above. If your condition worsens, especially difficulty breathing or general deterioration, you should contact the emergency number of your health centre or 112.
I want a vaccine against Covid-19
Spain will not make distinctions. Any person residing in Spanish territory will receive the vaccine against the coronavirus. This has been confirmed by official sources from the Ministry of Health. In this way, all immigrants residing in the country will be vaccinated. Also those who are not affiliated to the social security system, those who are in an irregular situation and the homeless. Health leaves it up to the communities to vaccinate three million foreigners without social security. Source: VozpopuliÂ
In any case, the order established in the COVID-19 vaccination strategy'. of the Spanish Government:
Group 1: will be for residents of nursing homes and their health and social-health staff.
Group 2: will be for frontline health and social-health workers in the fight against coronavirus.
Group 3: other health and social care staff.
Group 4. Persons considered to be highly dependent (degree III of dependency, i.e. in need of intensive support measures) who are not currently institutionalised.
Later, but not yet decided, may be the over-65 age group, the seriously ill and those who are unable to telework. What seems clear is that the last group will be the healthy adult population, although this will have to wait until the summer.
People who are vaccinated against coronavirus will receive a summons from your health centre to attend. The doses, date and other relevant information will be noted down for anyone who has been vaccinated. On the other hand, anyone who refuses to be vaccinated will have to explain in a document the reason for their refusal, whether it is a personal or exceptional reason, without the vaccination being compulsory.
- I don't have a SIP card*.
As you know from previous news items on our website we alerted the health authorities at the end of November to the existence of a group of possibly thousands of people in the Valencian community who do not have a SIP card*. and therefore do not appear on the social security lists.
To apply for your SIP*, you can:
- If you live in the Marina Alta: send an email to the following address accredi**@*********ud.es. You must attach a certificate of census registration, less than 3 months old, and your identification document. Do not forget to include your telephone number in the text so that you can be called.
- Request an administrative appointment on the telephone 96 564 8604 o 96 642 90 00
- Go to a Health Centre in the Marina Alta. To do so, you must bring a certificate of census registration, less than 3 months old, and your identification document. These steps are explained in detail in this guide (thanks to F. and G. Assink).
Please note that the SIP* card does not in any case guarantee that the vaccine will be administered.. However, given the silence of the health authorities, this is the only thing we can advise you to do to be 'visible' to them.
Many procedures can nowadays be done online, depending on the town. An agent/advisor can help you with all the formalities. In any case, the order established in the COVID-19 vaccination strategy'. of the Spanish Government.
- I have a SIP card*.
If you have a SIP card* you will receive an invitation to have the vaccination in the order stated in the COVID-19 vaccination strategy'. of the Spanish Government. If you have never had a consultation at the Health Centre, they will not have any medical history on you. It is advisable to request a (telephone) consultation to inform them about your history and medication. This is important if you are in the risk groups for Covid-19, because the risk groups will be selected on the basis of the medical records of your Health Centre.
