Depende de cada caso. La prótesis fija (sobre dientes o implantes) ofrece la máxima estabilidad y comodidad, mientras que la removible es más asequible y no requiere cirugía. Valoramos tus dientes remanentes, tu hueso y tu presupuesto para recomendarte la mejor opción.
No: al ir anclada a implantes, la prótesis queda fija y estable, sin movimientos ni roces. Se come, se habla y se sonríe con la misma seguridad que con los dientes propios, a diferencia de la dentadura postiza tradicional.
Una prótesis removible bien cuidada suele durar entre 5 y 10 años, aunque la encía y el hueso cambian con el tiempo y conviene hacer ajustes o rebases periódicos para mantener el encaje. En las revisiones comprobamos su estado y adaptación.
El zirconio destaca por su resistencia (ideal en muelas), el disilicato de litio por su estética (ideal en dientes visibles) y la metal-porcelana es la opción clásica y contrastada. Te recomendamos el material según la posición del diente, tu mordida y tu presupuesto.
Límpiala a diario con un cepillo específico y productos adecuados (no pasta abrasiva), aclárala después de las comidas, déjala en agua o líquido limpiador por la noche y acude a tus revisiones para comprobar el ajuste. Con estos cuidados durará más y evitarás rozaduras e infecciones.
