If the validity of your Dutch driving licence expires on or after your 75th birthday, you can only renew it after a medical examination. It is recommended to start the examination procedure at least 4-5 months before the expiry of the validity of your driving licence. The declaration of competence is valid for 1 year. We have been doing these surveys for the CBR with a printed document for years, but fortunately it can now also be done digitally and more quickly via ZorgDomein. You can therefore carry out the whole procedure from Spain without having to travel to the Netherlands or send documents by post.
The procedure is as follows:
- Online: go to mijncbr.nl. For this, you need a DigiD account and internet banking.
- Within 5 days, you will automatically receive the relevant documents in your mijn.cbr mailbox (if you have any questions, please call the CBR). The enclosed letter indicates how many referrals you have received and who can carry out the examinations. Therefore, you cannot come to us to make an appointment with a specialist, the CBR will provide you with the information.
- Make an appointment at our reception (965733157) and indicate that this is a CBR examination.
- Bring the following to the appointment: CBR data (printed or digital) with accompanying letter and ZorgDomein (ZD) code; updated medication summary; urine in an airtight container from the pharmacy (does not need to be first-time urine); your glasses and/or contact lenses (if you wear driving glasses, you should bring them with you; if you wear contact lenses, bring the prescription from your optician stating the prescription, or the packaging of the lenses, so that you do not have to remove them for the vision test); your current driving licence or other identity document.
We take care of the digital processing. The CBR will inform you of the result. We are unable to provide you with any information on this.
